Oil Painters of America, 2012 National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils - I was excited to get this recognition from the OPA. The national show is conveniently being held this year in Evergreen Colorado, June 22-24th. While this painting is small (3"x3.5"), it was completed on a baltic birch panel and sealed with an oil-based primer. Still yet, the panel was then treated with a coat of ivory black and red paints. I layered the cherries atop. The name of the painting is "Who's paying attention?" and is available for sale at the show. Visit www.oilpaintersofamerica.org to see the full list of accepted oil painters.

Picture yourself along the banks of the Snake River in front of the Tetons in Wyoming just north of Jackson Hole. This oil painting is 24 x 30 on a masonite panel.
Long warm sunny days and brignt blue skies bring fond memories, and I am hoping these colors bring the feelings out. This 11 x 14 oil painting was painted on baltic birch, prepared with an oil-based ground. The colors read deep and true.
One late winter drive in Minnesota captured this farm house and barn. This oil painting study was completed on canvas paper, 8 x 11.

This painting was donated and sold during the ARTMA fundraiser in 2010 www.artmaonline.org.
The framed donated piece was designed from an original en plein air study, painted Thanksgiving 2008 in Grand Teton National Park. From the plein air, the oil on panel painting was developed. It is approximately 16x20 inched unframed. By the way, the temperature outside was a balmy 14°F.

An Award Winner in Estes Park |
|
This oil painting won the People's Choice Award at the Women's History Month Art Show, 2007; Cultural Arts Council Estes Park, Colorado. The oil painting was created after finishing a few days backpack on a trail going to Lake Solitude, also in Grand Teton National Park. For sure, misquitoes were following us en mass, as we trekked along. But the beauty is what captured most of our memories. This painting is not available for sale - but, please contact Jenny, if you have an interest in her style and subject matter.
